How to choose the right size rug for your living room?

We recommend measuring your seating area and ensuring at least the front legs of your sofas and chairs rest on the rug. For larger living rooms, consider our oversized options to place all your furniture on the rug, enhancing intimacy and cohesion.

Getting the size right makes the biggest difference. Here is a quick guide based on room and sofa layout:

• 120 × 170 cm — Ideal for small living rooms or as an accent rug in front of a single armchair or fireplace
• 160 × 230 cm — The most popular size; suits a standard 3-seater sofa layout with front legs of the sofa resting on the rug
• 200 × 290 cm — Perfect for larger lounges; allows all four legs of your sofa and chairs to sit on the rug
• 240 × 320 cm — Extra large; ideal for open-plan living and dining areas combined

For the best result, the rug should extend at least 30 cm beyond each side of your sofa. If in doubt, go one size up — a larger rug always looks more intentional than one that is too small.

Do these living room rugs are washable?

Yes, these are stain resistant, machine washable rugs. All rugs in this collection are machine washable at 40°C, making them the practical choice for busy households, families with young children, and pet owners. No trips to the dry cleaner, no specialist cleaning — simply pop them in the washing machine and they come out looking as good as new. Many designs also feature non-slip rubber or gel backing, so they stay firmly in place on hardwood floors, laminate, and tiles without damaging the surface underneath.
